Spend an unforgettable week with your friends or partner cruising along the splendid North and West coastlines of Mauritius aboard a luxury catamaran.

Once you step on board, you will be welcomed by an amazing crew who will provide you with a highly personalised service on your 4-day trip. After a short briefing on safety and the adventure that awaits you, the catamaran will set sail along the scenic west coast.

Should you opt for the excursions package, you will have the amazing, once in a lifetime opportunity to swim with dolphins, as well as visit one of the most iconic gardens in the Southern Hemisphere.

This luxury catamaran cruise will be an incredible adventure that will undoubtedly leave you with very fond memories to look back on after your days under the tropical sun are over.

Itinerary of the 4-Day Shared Luxury Catamaran Cruise along West & North Coasts of Mauritius

Day 1 Wednesday: Black River – Benitiers Lagoon (West Coast)

Upon your arrival, you will be warmly welcomed aboard the catamaran at La Balise Marina, in Black River located in the west of the island. You will embark on the catamaran at 1 p.m., where you will receive a briefing on safety measures and your daily schedule of the 4-day catamaran cruise. The catamaran will then head towards the lagoon of Benitiers.

You will spend the afternoon in this beautiful spot, admiring the sunset and in clear weather conditions, you will even have the chance to see the highest point of Reunion Island on the horizon, should weather conditions permit.

Day 2 Thursday: Benitiers Lagoon –Mont Choisy (North Coast)

In the morning you will have the opportunity to swim with dolphins (offered for a supplement).Unlike other services that limit a swim with dolphins’ to shallow water encounters, we provide the unique opportunity to enter the dolphins’ natural environment and enjoy an encounter with the dolphins in the open sea. Dolphins are one of the most fantastic creatures that live in the ocean - a symbol of intelligence and grace.

After this delightful early adventure, you will get back to the catamaran for breakfast, before the catamaran sets sail to the lagoon of Mont Choisy. You will enjoy the rest of the day in this wonderful mooring where a beautiful beach shaded by filaos welcomes you for an idyllic afternoon with refreshing swim breaks. At dusk, you will get to enjoy a beautiful sunset with the Moka mountain range in the background.

Day 3 Friday: Mont Choisy – Grand Baie (North Coast)

After breakfast, relax and spend the morning exploring the beautiful lagoon of Mont Choisy; enjoy swimming, snorkelling and kayaking in the crystal-clear waters of the Indian Ocean.

If you booked the optional excursions package, you will then have the opportunity to visit the sugar museum and the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden. Discover the lush vegetation and exceptional flora of the oldest botanical garden in Mauritius, whilst also learning more about the history and culture of sugarcane, that helped shape the identity and economy of the island.

After this excursion, the catamaran will sail further north, and depending on the meteorological conditions, will moor at the bottom of the Coin de Mire cliff or in the Merville lagoon for you to have a splendid snorkelling session and explore the exotic marine life of the Mauritian lagoon.

You will spend the night in the calm lagoon of Grand Baie – you will have the choice to get off the catamaran and enjoy the vibrant nightlife Grand Baie is known for or spend a quiet evening onboard.

Day 4 Saturday: Grand Bay (North Coast)

Enjoy your final breakfast onboard before disembarking at 8 a.m.

About the Northern Islets of Mauritius:

About Coin de Mire

Coin de Mire, also called Gunner's Quoin, situated 8 km north of Mauritius, is well known by divers as one of the best diving sites of the north of Mauritius. At an average depth of 6 meters (depth ranges from 3-9 meters), with crystal clear water offering great visibility, the snorkeling conditions are ideal year-round.

The island is a nature reserve and as such it is not possible to go on the island. For those who enjoy bird watching, a number of native birds can be seen flying around the Coin de Mire or nesting in the cracks of the cliffs such as the famous Mauritius national bird - the 'pailles en queue. Coin de Mire’s highest point is at 142 meters.

Optional Excursions Package (at a supplement):

Day 2: Swimming with Dolphins

Dolphins live in pods of around 20 individuals or more and can be observed swimming casually from Tamarin (on the west coast of Mauritius) on their way to the deep sea off the coast of le Morne peninsula, early in the morning.

Explore the spectacular lives of dolphins in their natural aquatic habitat by immersing yourself in the adventure of a lifetime and swim with these magnificent marine mammals in crystal clear waters.

Swimming with dolphins is an incredibly moving experience which will not only bring you into contact with wonderful animals but will also allow you to admire the strikingly beautiful lagoon and unspoiled underwater landscapes.

Day 3: Visit of the Pamplemousses Botanical Gardens + Sugar Estate Museum

Mauritius National Botanical Garden

The Botanic Garden, formally known as Sir Seewoosagur Botanic Garden, is one of the most visited attractions in Mauritius.

The garden is located in the proximity of Port-Louis in the district of Pamplemousses.

The botanical garden was initially opened as a private garden by the French governor of Mauritius nearly 300 years ago, later to become the national botanical garden of Mauritius.

The botanical garden stretches over endless acres of land and it may take you more than a week to cover the whole garden. It is populated with more than 650 varieties of plants among which are the famous Baobabs, the Palmier Bouteille, the ineluctable Giant Water Lilies, dozens of medicinal plants, a large spice garden and many more.

One of the main attractions of the botanical garden is the 85 different varieties of palm trees brought from different corners of the world. Other indigenous species of plants are also exhibited here.

Visit to the Sugar Museum and Factory

By following the trail of the Sugar Adventure with over 250 years of history, you can trace the history of the whole country.

The tour of the old sugar mill, which has been transformed into a modern museum, lasts about an hour and a half.

The adventure starts behind the facade of the factory building, with tales woven around the life story of sugar, which for a long period of time has been the main product of Mauritius.

You will then visit the enormous factory, its decade-old machines decked with a thousand lights. A sugarcane hedge leads the way to the fully restored and converted sugar factory where films evoking the early years of Mauritius appear on giant screens.

The factory was used until the 1970s to transport sacks of sugar in the port. Today you can see how the docks used to be in those times and discover their importance to Mauritius.
