Animal Feeding at Casela Nature Parks - Aldabra Tortoises, Llamas, Fish and More

At Casela Nature Parks, the animals are waiting to meet you - and they’re ready for a snack! To make the most of the fun, your visit already includes a bag of feed and bottle of milk. Read on for all the exciting details:

Your animal adventure begins with the incredible giant Aldabra tortoises, among the largest tortoises in the world and known to live for over 100 years! Calm, curious and surprisingly sociable, these gentle giants slowly make their way over for a treat - and yes, feeding them is just as adorable as it sounds.

Next, it is time to meet Casela’s friendly llamas. With their fluffy coats, funny expressions and curious personalities, they are always a guest favourite. Do not be surprised if one wanders over looking for extra attention or steals the spotlight in your holiday photos!

The fun continues with goats and deer, especially loved by children for their gentle nature and excitement at feeding time. Watching them eagerly come over for a snack is one of those simple little moments that ends up becoming a highlight of the visit.

And then there is the fish feeding experience, where you will see fish gather around the water as soon as feeding time begins.

• Giraffe Feeding: Ever thought you could feed one of the tallest animals in the world? Standing up to 5.5m tall, giraffes may look intimidating at first, but they are surprisingly gentle. • Camel Feeding: Think camels only belong in the desert? Casela’s quirky camels are full of personality and always happy to come over for a treat. • Big Cat Feeding: If you are after something truly unforgettable, this is the one. Head to the Predator Kingdom for the rare chance to safely feed the lions from a specially designed enclosure. It is thrilling, slightly intimidating - and definitely not your everyday wildlife encounter. Although it may cost a few extra bucks, it’s definitely one of those moments you’ll regret not trying.

Activities and attractions not included in your package are available on a pay-as-you-go basis.

*Available throughout the park at intervals of around 15 to 30 minutes. Long-distance rides are not recommended for pregnant women due to uneven paths.

• Blue Bird Resto: The main restaurant serving gourmet dishes with breathtaking views of the west coast
• Wamwan Restaurant: Enjoy hamburgers, French fries, pizza & more, with chickens & peacocks roaming nearby
• Food Outlets: 3 small food outlets around the park offering light snacks, drinks and ice cream

Note: Outside food and drinks are not allowed inside the park. 

• Activity time is subject to the available park time slots. Missed time slots are non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.
• Access will not be granted without the presentation of a ticket or voucher.
• Access to certain attractions may be limited on specific days.
• You must arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the activity, otherwise a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
• The Safari Truck is a complimentary activity included with the entrance ticket. If missed, no refund or rescheduling will apply.
• Should the Tulawaka Gold Coaster be unavailable, clients will be offered access to the 4D Cinema as an alternative experience.

Health & Safety Notes

• Children under 12 years must remain under adult supervision at all times.
• Please do not scream, shout, kick, slap or jump up and down while in proximity to the animals.
• Participants must be physically and mentally fit; those with major hearing or visual impairments may not be permitted to participate. If the health and safety restrictions for your activity are not respected, "NO" refund will be considered. These rules are for your safety.
• All visitors must adhere strictly to any security protocols and directives of the guides, during any controlled interactions with animals, especially before touching and/or approaching any animal.
• Activities are still carried out in rain, and no refunds will be given if a client chooses to not participate. In the event of adverse weather, activities may be rescheduled for security purposes by the Management of the Park.
• IMPORTANT NOTE: Safety briefings are conducted in English, French or Mauritian Creole. Unless clients (who do not understand any of the mentioned languages) provide a translator, they cannot take part in any of the activities that include a safety talk for safety reasons.

Transport is available for an extra fee, with pick-up and drop-off from any accommodation in Mauritius.

How is the Transportation Fare calculated?

For transportation not included as part of the tour, the fare is calculated based on the set activity duration, the distance between your accommodation and the activity location (round trip).

Transport Payment

The payment for transportation is divided into two parts:

"Deposit": Payable at the time of booking, alongside your activity reservation. This deposit covers a portion of the total transportation fare.

"Amount Due to Driver": The remaining balance is payable in cash directly to the driver on the day of the activity. This final amount is calculated by subtracting the deposit from the total transportation cost.
