About the Discovery Trail by Safari 4x4 - Bel Ombre Nature Reserve

This is a fantastic adventure trail, taking you off the beaten track to discover one of the most rejuvenating sites on the island. This 4x4 safari package has been designed to provide you with the most satisfying adventure in nature with the possibility to swim at a waterfall.

As soon as you reach the welcome centre, you will be offered a welcome drink and briefed on the safari. You will then hop on your safari ride, so buckle up and get ready for an amazing time.

In these two hours of comprehensive and intensive exploration at Bel Ombre Nature Reserve, sightseers are indulged in a rich diversity of sites and panoramas, including stops and a possibility of swimming at the L’Exemple waterfall.

Get your camera ready to capture images of spellbinding waterfalls, beautiful rivers and enticing geological wonders in the south coast of Mauritius. The 4x4 safari is the ideal option for families or anyone who would prefer to be driven around while they can enjoy the scenery, effortlessly. You will drive through the sugar cane fields up the Dalsing plains to the higher lands and discover amazing fauna and flora through valleys drenched by enchanting waterfalls and streams. Further on, drive past a fish pond towards the fascinating ruins of Heritage’s old sugar mill situated at the brink of Dalsing plains.

Throughout this exciting adventure, you will be guided by a professional guide, who will give you insights about the history of the natural site. Spot the endemic bird species such as; the Pink Pigeon, the Mauritius Black Bulbul, or the Mauritius Kestrel as you enjoy this absolutely fun drive! You will eventually make a stop at L’Exemple waterfalls, a well hidden spot of true beauty. You can enjoy a swim at the waterfalls, the cool water will provide you with an immense sense of relaxation.

Once your package reaches towards its end, you will be brought back to the welcome centre where you can freshen up using the bathrooms. This little nature escapade is one you will remember for a long time.
