Underwater Adventure Day - Explore, Dive & Discover

They say we know more about space than we do about our own oceans — so why not explore a part of it for yourself? You don’t even need to be an expert swimmer or certified diver!

The Underwater Adventure Day is a flexible, full-day experience built around three very different – but equally unforgettable – ways of exploring what lies beneath the surface. There are two possible itineraries, depending on scheduling and availability, but both deliver the same mix of excitement, wonder, and laid-back island charm.

What You’ll Experience:

Thrilling Seabob Adventure

This high-energy activity lets you glide smoothly over the surface and dive just below, offering a fun and unique way to explore the lagoon.

Easy to handle and incredibly agile, the Seabob is perfect for both beginners and adventure seekers. As you zoom through the water, you’ll enjoy stunning views of the vibrant marine life and colourful coral reefs.

Good to know: Even first-timers pick it up quickly, and it’s open to ages 10+.

Underwater Sea Walk Expedition

Imagine walking on the ocean floor, surrounded by tropical fish and coral – no swimming required. With a clear helmet that lets you breathe normally, you’ll descend into a shallow, calm section of sea for a guided underwater walk.

Whether you're a confident swimmer or not, this activity is designed to be easy and accessible. You can even keep your glasses or contact lenses on. It’s a gentle, almost surreal experience – peaceful, fascinating, and unlike anything you’ve done before.

Submarine Underwater Trip

There aren’t many places in the world where you can take a real submarine dive without training—but Mauritius is one of them.

You’ll descend to 35 metres in a fully pressurised cabin, with your own viewing window and a shared screen showing footage from the outside camera. As you move past coral structures, marine flora, and possibly a shipwreck or two, you will be guided by expert pilots.

In Between: Grand Baie

This isn’t a tightly scheduled tour—you’ll also have time to relax. Grand Baie offers plenty of small pleasures: fresh lunch, little craft shops, or a stretch of soft sand to rest on while the next activity is lined up.

• Minimum age requirement for Seabob: 10 years old (with parental authorisation)
• It is recommended to wear a tight swimsuit for Seabob (preferably a one-piece swimsuit for women).
• Total time of the underwater walk excursion is approx. one hour (walk itself takes about 12-15 minutes).
• Minimum age requirement for the underwater walk: 10 years old. However, the child must be physically strong enough to safely participate in the underwater walk, which the activity team will assess on-site.
• Glasses or contact lenses may be worn during the underwater sea walk excursion (you will not get your head wet).
• Participants do not need to know how to swim for the underwater sea walk.
• The underwater sea walk is not recommended for pregnant women.
• The total duration of the submarine trip is 2 hours, of which around 40 minutes will be underwater.
• All submarines are approved and certified by the international authorities for design and safety at sea.
