About Horse Riding at Balaclava Equestrian Centre

Mauritius Attractions has designed the perfect package for you to enjoy a horse riding session in one of the most famous estates of the island. Whether you are a beginner or an experienced rider or simply want to discover the joys of horse riding, you will certainly enjoy this activity.

You may choose to go for an individual session where you get a private horse riding lesson. The professional and qualified instructors will teach and assist you throughout the whole private lesson, so rest assured you are in good hands.

Otherwise, opt for the Ride Package where you can enjoy 5 riding sessions on the estate. Simply saddle up on your horse (or pony for children), relax, and let the guides take care of everything. The 5 rides can be redeemed at your convenience and will give you ample time to enjoy the feeling of being on a horse whilst admiring the beautiful natural views around you.

Your journey starts at the stable, continues by the golf course and ends on the beach (no horse swimming is included). Plus, all riding equipment will be provided, so you don’t have to worry about a thing and can come as you are. Before starting your ride, you will receive a safety briefing to ensure that you are aware of all safety measures to be considered during your ride.

For this activity, no prior experience is required, so you have no excuse to not try out this horse riding activity in one of the most beautiful settings of the island.

About the Equestrian Centre

The Equestrian Centre, located near the historical Ruins of Balaclava gives you the opportunity to experience a horse ride on the beach or through the natural wonders of the hotel estate, whether you are beginner or an advanced horse rider.

Open to hotel guests but also to non-residents, this professional riding school houses beautiful championship horses from all over the world, as well as ponies for younger guests.

Ruins of Balaclava

The Ruins of Balaclava, a national heritage site of the 18th century, is set amidst a tropical garden awarded ‘Most Beautiful Garden of Mauritius’. The ruins are the remains of what used to be a fortress built by the first French Governor of Mauritius, Mahe de Labourdonnais. Horse riding at this epic site will have you enjoying a ride down memory lane.
