Varangue Sur Morne is one of those places people remember for the view as much as for the meal.

Set in a peaceful green forest setting near Piton de la Rivière Noire, this fine dining restaurant has been welcoming guests since 1992. Its colonial-style architecture, rustic décor and large open veranda create a relaxed, elegant atmosphere, with beautiful views towards Le Morne, Baie du Cap and the south-western landscape.

The setting feels far from the busier coastal roads, making it a lovely place to pause during your day and enjoy a slower moment surrounded by nature. From the veranda, the scenery becomes part of the experience, giving your lunch a more memorable feel than a standard restaurant stop.

Your lunch includes a set menu with a starter, main course and dessert. The cuisine highlights authentic Mauritian flavours, with dishes inspired by local recipes, island ingredients and the restaurant’s own signature touch.

Vegetarian options are available, and any dietary restrictions or allergies should be mentioned in advance.

• Main course: Chicken & potato stew served with rice, mixed salad & lentils
• Dessert: Tapioca, our local sagoo with a coconut flavour, Varangue Sur Morne style
• Drinks: 1/2 water

• Starter: Chayote gratin with parmesan cheese
• Main Course: Grilled fish served with plain rice and sauteed vegetables
• Dessert: Roasted banana with old Rhum
• Drinks: 1/2 water

Vegetarian Menu

• Starter: Pasta salad with pesto and olives
• Main course: Vegetable curry served with white rice and black lentils
• Dessert: Tapioca (Sagoo) with coconut flavour ice cream, Varangue Sur Morne style

Kids Menu

• Main Course: Seared chicken breast (125g) & chips
• Dessert: Selection of sorbets
